Macra officially closes the Cybersecurity Awareness Month

In his remarks, MACRA Director General Mr. Daud Suleman said the Authority is proud to be in partnership with  the Malawi Defense Force in providing a conducive and enabling environment for the growth of cyberspace and the digital economy. Among others, Suleman said in 2016, the Electronic Transactions and Cyber Security laws were put into effect as a way of addressing the changing landscape brought forth by digital evolution. 
 
The National Cyber Security Symposium for National Security Agencies, was  conducted in conjunction with the Malawi Defence Force through the National Defence College (NDC) and Malawi Computer Emergency Response Team (MWCERT) under the theme “Technology, Security, and Development: Problems and Prospects.” 
 
The two-day National Cyber Security Symposium for National Security Agencies ended on a high note with a call for all stakeholders to join hands in addressing cybersecurity challenges caused by digital evolution. It brought together over 150 leaders and experts who explored the challenges and opportunities posed by emerging technologies in national security, especially cybersecurity, sustainable development, and economic transformation.
